MEMBERSHIP

OCHRe provides funding support and career development opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people at all possible entry points across diverse careers - including community-based researchers, higher degree students, early and mid-career researchers and clinicians/practitioners. Non-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members gain access to professional networks, development opportunities, research information, etc.

We welcome applications to join our network. Please select from our four membership options:

  • ELIGIBILITY

    Premium Membership applies to:

    Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander investigators named on the NHMRC Application (APP2005944).

    Members of the Cultural Community Council (Council).

    Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander researchers conducting health research.

    Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who deliver courses focused on building the skills and capabilities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander researchers and/or students in health research.

    Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff funded by OCHRe (excluding casual positions).

  • ELIGIBILITY

    Associate Membership applies to:

    Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people delivering courses aimed at building capability of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health researchers.

    Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people committed to the vision of OCHRe but who do not meet the criteria for Premium membership or Student membership.

  • ELIGIBILITY

    Student membership applies to:

    Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are undertaking courses that are relevant to health research. These courses include: Vocational Education and Training courses, diplomas, undergraduate, postgraduate, or higher degree by research.

    Student membership is subject to continued enrolment.

    Student membership will conclude on completion of their studies. If their ongoing role is relevant to health research and OCHRe’s vision, membership can be rolled into a Premium or Associate membership.

  • ELIGIBILITY

    Friend of OCHRe Membership applies to:

    Non-Indigenous people who are:

    • conducting or involved in health and wellbeing research relevant to OCHRe’s vision

    • delivering courses aimed at building capability of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander researchers

    • able to support OCHRe in achieving its vision.
