CATSINaM appoints inaugural Chief Midwifery Officer
Professor Catherine Chamberlain, a Palawa woman of the Trawlwoolway clan Tasmania, and one of Australia’s most accomplished First Nations health professionals, was appointed as the inaugural Chief Midwifery Officer for the Congress of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nurses and Midwives (CATSINaM). Prof. Chamberlain is a midwife and renowned public health researcher with 25 years’ experience in the health sector, holding leadership positions within academic institutions, government and health services.

Health Research Experience Scholarships
An important initiative of OCHRe is to develop the next generation of Indigenous health researchers, and we are excited to announce the relaunch of the Health Research Experience Scholarships as part of our OCHRe NEXGEN Hub.
For this round, NEXGEN Hub will offer 12 Health Research Experience Scholarships (Scholarships) of $4,000 each. The Scholarships provide access to health research experience for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders enrolled in an undergraduate degree or a masters degree by course work, to work on a defined aspect of research.

Wardliparingga Aboriginal Health Equity Theme - SAHMRI
LK LAW SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM | Adelaide
The purpose of the LK Scholarship is to empower and support two master's students to undertake research work within the Wardliparingga Aboriginal Health Equity Theme at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI). This $10,000 scholarship offers a unique and flexible placement opportunity to work alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander researchers, fostering collaboration and enhancing cultural understanding. To be eligible, students must Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person & be able to provide Confirmation of Aboriginality or Torres Strait Islander Identity.

Senior Evaluation and Project Officer | Adelaide
We are seeking a Senior Evaluation and Project Officer to work as part of a small team to coordinate a program of work in South Australia, the Northern Territory, the Kimberly region in Western Australia and Far North Queensland to improve the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with diabetes-related foot complications and provide support and guidance for projects funded through the program in completing monitoring and evaluation activities.
